We use the latest, state-of-the-art technology in all of our procedures and operations. We believe that this enables us to give our patients the highest quality care with the greatest comfort possible.
LGEC uses only the latest, state-of-the-art technology in all of our procedures and treatments. The center is totally furnished with the latest high definition endoscopy equipment – and has been since 2007. This gives our physicians the most experience in the capabilities of this technology and the advantages that it offers to our patients. Additionally, our standards of care enable us to give our patients the highest quality procedures with the greatest possible level of comfort.
High Definition Colonoscopy
Undergoing a high definition (HD) colonoscopy allows your physician to have an increased field of vision and depth perception, which reveals lesions, particularly right-sided flat polyps that could not be identified and removed with standard definition technology. Another advantage from this increase in polyp detection is that the patient can go for longer intervals between a recommended repeat colonoscopy after having a negative HD examination.
High Definition Gastroscopy
A real advantage in high definition upper endoscopy is the feature called “Narrow Band Imaging,” which allows the physician to view more definition in the vascular patterns of the mucosa. This is especially informative in patients with reflux disease. It identifies abnormal tissue patterns at the esophagogastric junction (the area where the stomach and esophagus meet) when Barrett’s Esophagus is suspected. This increased definition allows for targeted biopsies to increase diagnostic accuracy.
CRH Hemorrhoid Banding System
No more messy ointments, creams or suppositories. No need for painful or complicated procedures. We use the proprietary CRH O’Regan System®, which doesn’t require surgery or recovery time. The CRH O’Regan System® is a simple, painless and highly effective procedure (99.1%) that can be performed in less than a minute. How simple is it? Our physician will place a tiny rubber band around the base of the hemorrhoid. The banded tissue then shrinks and falls within day or so, usually without you noticing. And that’s it. Once the hemorrhoid is treated, so are your symptoms!
Our ERBE electrosurgical generators are the latest generation featuring “Smart Technology”. Each unit has a computer-driven ability to measure the patient’s density (evaluating body weight, hydration, tissue resistance) to deliver the exact amount of electrical current to provide the optimal tissue effect for the patient’s requirement to accomplish needed therapeutic interventions, such as polyp removal or cautery of a bleeding site.
The endoscopy equipment used during procedures is cleaned and disinfected by an automated process that exceeds all required standards for safety and infection control. The technology verifies and records each stage of the disinfection process and downloads all of the information to hard-drive storage, creating a permanent record of what equipment (identified by serial number and patient medical record number) was used on each patient and verifies that each stage of the process was completed without disruption or error.
LGEC’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system protects your medical record from being lost or destroyed by fire, water or any type of disaster. EMR provides consistency of reporting, availability of records and standardization of all records. It also allows your physician to view your record from another location (such as the hospital, his office or residence) if you have a problem at a time when the center is closed.
